This note was in Shad Qadri’s weekly email newsletter today:
I am sad to say that the building located at 173 Huntmar, also known as the former Boyd House, was victim to vandalism this past week. Police are currently conducting an investigation and would appreciate the public’s assistance should anyone have any information to this matter. Police also request that if you see any unusual activity occurring on this private property to please call 911 so that officers can be dispatched as soon as possible.
A pair of roller blades was left behind at the scene. Ottawa Police community Constable Lori Fahey posted this photo on social media, August 4th, asking if anyone may recognize the skates to please contact her https://twitter.com/KanStittCPC or the Ottawa Police non emergency line at 613-236-1222 extension 7300.
The heritage stone farmhouse just north of our community along Huntmar Drive. It’s hidden behind the trees from Huntmar, but partially visible from Messor & Aquilo.
The owner has it boarded up, but it’s impossible to monitor 24/7 and there has recently been some very bad vandalism.
We want to encourage our neighbours to call the police or bylaw (311) if they notice any unusual activity around the house. It’s private property and trespassing is prohibited.
